Expert Pet Travel Tips for a Stress-Free Journey
1. Ensure you have the correct paperwork
A. You will need to obtain a rabies vaccination card or certificate signed by the vet who administered the most recent rabies vaccination. The document should show the microchip number and confirm that it was present or scanned prior to vaccination.
The relevant pet’s veterinary history from your current vet also needs to be emailed.
B. Additionally, submit an A4 microchip certificate from the registered company with your information, the pet’s date of birth, and the date of microchip implantation.
THERE SHOULD BE NO DISCREPANCY OF ANY INFORMATION BETWEEN THE TWO SUPPORT DOCUMENTS
Travel is permitted 21 days post-vaccination, with day one being the day after the rabies vaccination.
2. Submit the information
Please submit clear copies of the relevant support documents by email or in our online booking form.
3. We will contact you by email or telephone
A mutually convenient time will be scheduled to issue the Animal Health Certificate (this has to be within 10 days of your arrival in the EU)
4. Arrange payment
An invoice will be sent to be paid in advance.
5. Animal Health Certificate Issuing
Your pet will undergo a fitness check for travel, have their microchip scanned, receive tapeworm treatment (if needed – see our FAQ’s). The necessary document will then be completed in the presence of yourself and Erik from PetTravel Vet Service
